Why it stutters and drops frames in big fights

This is the one thing that decides the game. Helldivers 2 is CPU-bound in combat. On an empty map your processor barely works and the frame rate is high, but the moment a swarm spawns and stratagems, ragdolls, and particle effects pile up, the CPU jumps to full load and the frame rate falls off. Settings that actually recover frames

Since the drops are CPU-driven, target the settings that ease the processor first. Particle Quality is the big one, so drop it to Low.
